The Chef's Estate

The Chef’s Estate (Case Study)

Good times and FANTASTIC food. If you don’t take anything else from me just make sure that you know that you will not be disappointed with the food. Not even once. If you want to learn more about what The Chef’s Estate has to offer besides amazing food then read on. Located in Strathroy, Ontario - just outside of London, Ontario and very close to Grand Bend which is a community on the shores of Lake Huron. This is the mini-vacation that you’ve been looking for! Get out of the city without having to go too far no matter the time of year.

We made the trip in October as fall was fully embracing the North. The drive over, albeit short, was absolutely gorgeous. The autumn colours were boldly represented with deep reds, pale yellows, and bright oranges. With leaves beginning their new adventures as they get carried away by the same winds that are being converted into electrical energy by the wind turbines in the distance.

The Chef’s Estate itself is a beautiful and very comfortably-sized Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in the guest rooms which was like staying in a luxurious Air BnB. Upstairs there were three different rooms available which comfortably sleep 2-3 people. In the basement, there was a cinema room loaded with various forms of entertainment like movies, video games, recliner seats, and a popcorn machine. There was also a separate room with a billiards table, a foosball table, and a dartboard. We were welcomed on the main floor by Mike & Barb. They are the hosts of The Chef’s Estate and they are also World Championship Chefs. Did we mention that the food was amazing? Speaking of food, the kitchen is also on the main floor.

If we weren’t upstairs relaxing or downstairs hanging out while attempting to burn off some of the calories we just took in we were in the kitchen taking in some more. When we had enough of that we had the option to go for a nature walk on a nearby trail, we had the opportunity to practice our archery skills like Robin Hood, we got to handle honey bees as we learned from a beekeeper, and we also got to witness the surrounding cornfields being harvested which only occurs once annually.

We were only there for two and a half days and I must say that it is quite challenging to include everything that we did in such a short post. The Chef’s Estate is ideal for small family vacations, for a group of friends, and even for that elopement, you may have been considering. It very well may be time to begin planning our next visit back - if even just for the food.
